Russell Pierson

Russell Pierson has had a diverse range of work experiences in the renewable energy industry. Russell began their career in 2005 at Skytop Lodge, where they worked on golf course maintenance, landscaping, and construction projects. In 2010, they started working at groSolar as a PV Installer. Russell then moved on to SolarCity, where they held various roles including Installer, Site Surveyor, Project Manager, Operations Manager, and Regional Operations Director. During their time at SolarCity, they successfully grew the operation from 20 installs per month to over 100 per month. In 2017, they joined Tesla as a Senior Operations Manager, responsible for Energy Operations in nine states along the East Coast. Russell led a team of over 300 employees and managed a range of products including PV installations, PV + storage, Powerwall, EV charging, and SolarRoof. Most recently, they are working at Trinity Solar as the Regional Vice President of Operations, overseeing PV + Storage operations across Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland. Russell is responsible for overseeing all aspects from post-sale/contract to PTO at high volume rates. Their experience encompasses field operations, P&L management, customer experience, and subcontractor management.

Russell Pierson received their Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree from Philadelphia University, where they studied Architecture from 2005 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Pocono Mountain East from 2001 to 2005. In 2011, they obtained a certification as a Building Analyst Professional from the Building Performance Institute.
