Betty Curry

Director, Academic Support at Trinity University

As Director for Academic Support, Betty coordinates the support services housed in the Tiger Learning Commons (Academic Coaching, Student Accessibility Services, the Writing Center, and the Quantitative Reasoning and Skills Center) and is a co-director of the Student Success Center. She loves working with Trinity students at every stage of their college journeys, helping them find ways to improve their learning strategies and academic performance.

Her personal and professional journey has included being an active student and sociology major at Southwestern University, working in undergraduate admissions at St. Edward’s University, and serving nonprofits as a communications professional. In 2017, Betty earned a Master of Education in higher education/student affairs at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Before joining the Academic Support/TLC team, she served as the program assistant to Trinity’s Mellon Initiative for Undergraduate Research in the Arts and Humanities.

Betty is a native South Texan, daughter of a United Methodist pastor and special education teacher/administrator. She and her husband, Brock, have two children, Emily and Sam, who are now college students. The Currys live in (and perpetually work on) a 1925 home in the historic Beacon Hill neighborhood.
