Rachel Gerver

Director, Systems Engineering at Triple Ring Technologies

Rachel utilizes her expertise in design, experimentation, and computational modeling/analytics to help clients overcome the challenges in going from initial concept to product launch. Her core expertise is in the field of microfluidics. Reporting to me, Rachel will be responsible for leading the Systems Engineering and Systems Integration teams, contributing her technical expertise to IVT-related projects, and participating in relevant business development activities (among many other things!).

Prior to joining Triple Ring Technologies she founded and ran her own consulting company and helped clients from early-stage startups to large multinationals develop and launch new products. She has also previously served as a microfluidics lead engineer for 10x Genomics, a vehicle integration engineer bringing more environmentally-friendly advanced technology vehicles from R&D to the market for General Motors, and as a consultant for a data analytics company. She is particularly interested in projects that improve access to healthcare and has conducted fieldwork in Kenya as part of her PhD research.

In addition to a technical background, she also has a certificate in Management of Technology from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and was a Biodesign Innovation Fellow at Stanford University. She has applied the biodesign innovation process to help clients identify new business opportunities, assisted with due diligence for VC firms or large corporations considering investment or acquisition, and conducted market assessments for companies considering entering a new space.

Rachel received her PhD in Bioengineering from the joint program at UCSF/UC Berkeley with a focus in microfluidics. She also has a Master's in Mechanical Engineering from UT Austin focused in materials, electrochemistry, and computational modeling and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
