Hermann-Josef Meyer

Hermann-Josef Meyer has a diverse and extensive work experience. Hermann-Josef started their career as a Rotation Student at Hannover Medical School in 2006, and later held the same position at Hannover Medical School and UC Berkeley in 2007. Hermann-Josef then worked as a Research Assistant at UC Berkeley in 2008, followed by a role as an Assistant Specialist/Graduate Student at UC Berkeley from 2009 to 2014. In this role, they gained hands-on experience in expressing recombinant proteins in various systems and purified proteins using HPLC methods.

In 2015, Hermann-Josef Meyer joined Genentech as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Pharmaceutical Technical Development, where they worked until 2016. Hermann-Josef then joined Zymergen, Inc. in 2017 as a Scientist, specializing in fermentation, bioreactor, and high-throughput process development. After two years, they moved to Demetrix in 2019, where they served as an Associate Director of Fermentation and Department Lead of High-Throughput Process Engineering until 2022.

Most recently, in 2022, Hermann-Josef Meyer joined Triplebar as a Senior Staff Scientist.

Hermann-Josef Meyer has a strong educational background in the field of biology and biochemistry. Hermann-Josef completed their Abitur, equivalent to a high school degree, at Clemens-August-Gymnasium Cloppenburg from 1996 to 2003, with a focus on biology and chemistry. Hermann-Josef then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biochemistry at Leibniz Universität Hannover from 2003 to 2008. Continuing their studies, they earned a Doctor of Science degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Bayreuth in 2014. In 2019, Hermann-Josef Meyer attended Delft University of Technology for an advanced course in Microbial Physiology and Fermentation Technology. Though the degree obtained from Delft University of Technology is not specified, it can be inferred that they further expanded their knowledge in the field during this period.
