Bruce Weintraub

Bruce Weintraub has had an extensive career in the medical field. Bruce began their career in 1968 when they were employed by the NIDDK/National Institutes of Health, eventually retiring as a Captain in 2006. During their time there, they served as a Branch Chief and Director of the Endocrine Program, and co-invented and co-developed Thyrogen with Genzyme, which has revolutionized the diagnostic and treatment approach for thyroid cancer worldwide. In 1996, they became a Professor at the University of Maryland Medical School and Biotechnology Institute. In 2001, they became a Cofounder and Board Member of Trophogen, Inc., serving as President and CEO.

Bruce Weintraub obtained an AB in Biology-Philosophy from Princeton University between 1958 and 1962. Bruce then attended Harvard Medical School and completed an MD in Medicine in 1971. Bruce also completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Brigham and served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Thyroid Unit of MGH.
