Kate Miller is an experienced professional in government affairs and environmental policy, currently serving as the Director of Government Affairs at Trout Unlimited since March 2006. In this role, Kate advances TU’s conservation agenda through advocacy in Congress and administrative agencies, focusing on public lands protection and appropriations initiatives. Additionally, as Western Water & Energy Counsel, Kate provides legal and policy support, concentrating on balancing hydropower benefits with the health of fish populations and promoting positive water management policies in collaboration with stakeholders. Kate's career includes previous positions as a legal analyst for the Pacific Salmon & Steelhead Program and as an attorney at Steamboat Grand. Educational credentials include a J.D. with a Certificate of Study in Environmental Law from Tulane University Law School and a B.A. in Politics and Media from Mount Holyoke College.
