Barbara Vollebregt is an accomplished journalist and documentary maker with extensive experience in media and production. Currently serving as a reporter for Trouw since December 2017, Barbara has held various roles, including video editor and reporter for both the economy and domestic news sections. As the director and producer of the documentary "Breaking Borders," which focuses on the life of gay refugee and activist Ibrahim Mokdad, Barbara demonstrates a commitment to highlighting important social issues. Previous positions include adjunct-editor-in-chief at Paduaan, social media editor and reporter at Omroep West, and editor and camera journalist for the Midzomergracht Festival. Barbara has also contributed as a news editor for Expreszo and served as co-founder and creative director of The Crystal Bra, showcasing a diverse career in journalism and creative production. Educated at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Barbara continues to engage with topics related to diversity and representation in media.

Trouw

Trouw is one of the three national quality newspapers in the Netherlands, and part of the Belgium publisher De Persgroep. In 2012 it received the award European Newspaper of the Year fot its concept of a 'daily weekly'​ and its design. It produces every day a newssection and a section 'De Verdieping'​ with background, analyses, reports en opinions. On saturday there are two extra magazines called Letter&Geest with essays and bookreviews and a magazine named Tijd with human interest-story's. It's orginally founded in 1943 as a resistance newspaper. Nowadays the newspaper takes special interests in politics, sustainability, education, healthcare and the role of religion and (new) religious groups in our rapidly changing society.
