Rob Sharps transitioned from group chief investment officer to chief executive officer at the end of 2021.
Mr. Sharps has 24 years of investment experience, 22 of which have been with T. Rowe Price. He was the lead portfolio manager of the Institutional Large-Cap Growth Equity Strategy for 15 years until December 2016. During his portfolio management tenure, T. Rowe Price was twice named Large-Cap Growth Equity Manager of the Year by Institutional Investor magazine. Mr. Sharps joined the firm in 1997 as an analyst, specializing in financial services stocks, including banks, asset managers, and securities brokers. Prior to joining the firm, he completed an internship as an equity research analyst at Wellington Management. Mr. Sharps began his career in 1993 as a senior management consultant at KPMG Peat Marwick, where he focused on corporate transactions, before leaving to pursue his M.B.A. in 1995.
Mr. Sharps earned a B.S., summa cum laude, in accounting from Towson University and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School. He also has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Mr. Sharps currently serves on the St. Paul's School Board of Trustees and is chair of the Investment Committee. He previously served six years on Towson University's College of Business and Economics Alumni Advisory Board.
