Afzal Ahmed

Afzal Ahmed is a seasoned broadcast journalist with extensive experience in news production and editorial leadership across various media organizations. Currently serving as the Lead Planning Producer for the Asia-Pacific Team at TRT World since May 2017, Afzal oversees the channel's regional news coverage and coordinates assignments for correspondents and freelancers. Previous roles at TRT World include Output Producer, where Afzal reported international news bulletins, and Programme Editor, launching the regional programme Strait Talk. Afzal's earlier experience includes serving as Deputy News Editor for Ethical Media Group Ltd, where the Asia Wired programme was developed, and as Editor/Reporter for EastLondonLines, focusing on local community issues. Afzal holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Media & Communications from Goldsmiths, University of London.
