Aoife Sexton has a wealth of experience in various roles relating to open data governance, privacy, technology law, and intellectual property. Aoife has held positions such as Chairperson of the Open Data Governance Board in Ireland, Chair of the Governance Committee at the Centre for Research Training in AI, Lecturer in PPC II Technology and Intellectual Property Law at the Law Society of Ireland, and Chief Privacy Officer and Chief of Product Innovation at Truata. Aoife has also worked as an Approved Trainer for the International Association of Privacy Professionals and as a Co-Founder/Director of Frontier Privacy, a data protection consultancy. Prior to these roles, Aoife served as President and General Counsel at Altobridge, where they were responsible for business divisions and commercial legal work. Aoife Sexton obtained a Diploma in European Law from the College of Europe in Belgium from 1991 to 1992. Aoife also earned a Solicitor degree from the Law Society of Ireland during the same time period. Prior to that, they studied Law at University College Dublin, where they pursued a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) degree. In 2016, Aoife Sexton became a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals.
