Carl Masser is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in research and development, particularly in the fields of optics and instrumentation. Currently serving as Principal R&D Engineer at True Digital Surgery since May 2020, Carl focuses on the development of optical performance verification protocols for digital stereo microscopes used in neurosurgery. Previous roles include Principal Engineer at Bruker Nano Surfaces, where Carl contributed significantly to the design of the FastScan head and various high-performance scanning probe microscope products. With a foundational education in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Caltech, supplemented by further studies at the University of Southern California and UC Irvine Extension, Carl has demonstrated expertise across multiple engineering domains, including hardware design, system engineering, and the development of advanced imaging technologies.
