Erin Michels

Erin Michels is an experienced education professional currently serving as the Director of Teaching and Learning at True North Classical Academy since July 2023. Prior to this role, Erin spent eight years at Uncommon Schools as the Senior Director of Curriculum and Assessment for K-8. Erin's extensive experience at North Star Academy Charter School of Newark included positions such as Dean of Curriculum and Instruction and various leadership roles for multiple grade levels, alongside foundational teaching responsibilities. Early career experience includes diverse roles at the NYC Department of Education, such as Project Manager and Urban Fellow. Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Loyola University Maryland, a Master's degree in Education Leadership from Montclair State University, and a Master's in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education.
