Anil Sharma

Anil Sharma has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Anil is currently serving as the Head of Data Science and Analytics at Truecaller, starting in October 2022. Before that, they worked at Klarna as a Data Science Manager from September 2020 to June 2022, where they built the data science practice of recommendation systems from scratch and focused on customer value and team collaboration. Prior to Klarna, Anil worked at H&M Group as a Product Owner from April 2020 to August 2020, leading the greenfield development of a new personalization product and managing downsizing due to budget cuts. From April 2019 to August 2020, they were a Data Scientist at H&M, where they created and improved personalization solutions, evaluated production models, and implemented new models. Anil also worked at CGI as a Data Scientist | Advanced Analytics Solutions from September 2017 to March 2019, where they solved business problems using advanced analytics and machine learning. Anil began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Karolinska Institutet from February 2013 to August 2017, focusing on developing tools to study cell development and neuronal connections. Anil also had research internships at Pfizer, conducted web content editing at The University of Western Australia, worked as a research officer at the Department of Forensic Mental Health, and served as a graduate research assistant at GeneStream and The University of Western Australia.

Anil Sharma obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Neurobiology and Neurosciences from The University of Western Australia, from 2005 to 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science Honors (BSc.Hons) degree in Neurobiology and Neurosciences, and Pharmacology from the same university, spanning from 1997 to 2001. Anil Sharma also holds a certification in EMBO Single Cell Gene Expression Analysis Course from EMBO - excellence in life sciences, earned in 2015.
