Ken Harvey

Ken Harvey is the current Vice President – Director of Finance at TruFund Financial Services. Prior to their current position, Ken served as an Independent Consultant at Reed Elsevier from July 2008 to July 2009. In this role, Ken oversaw financial statements, performed divisional reporting, analysis, forecasting and budgeting, and partnered with the Director of Financial Reporting and Systems to design and implement management reporting highlighting key cost drivers of variance versus budget. Ken also supported divisional strategic planning efforts through budget development activities.

Previously, Ken worked as the Assistant Manager Headquarters Accounting at Altria from June 2000 to March 2008. In this role, they managed month-end/year-end close and financial statement preparation, analyzed balance sheets, P&Ls, cash flows, and budget variances, and guided operational management positively affecting positively variance resolution. Ken also ensured compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act and internal control standards, provided subject matter expertise in the user community for technical personnel, department heads and management, and managed a staff of five with a $2 million budget. Ken was also a key team-member in the implementation of SAP corporate accounting system and led the team in the role of change management coordinator. Furthermore, they managed P & L risks and opportunities, ensuring senior executives were well informed and partnered with senior managers to develop, present and implement recommendations. Lastly, they partnered with Human Resources Director to establish monthly headcount tracking and reporting, ensuring headcount targets were achieved, and interacted with department heads to provide timely and comprehensive financial support.

Ken Harvey has an MBA in Finance from Adelphi University and a BA in Accounting from Queens College.
