Jamia Jowers

Jamia Jowers serves as the Executive Director of the What’s Your Forté Foundation since May 2022, focusing on equitable economic advancement for youth and families in Chicago. Additionally, Jamia is a Security Fellow at the Truman National Security Project. Prior experience includes roles at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago from 2017 to 2021, where Jamia directed the International Policy and Development program and the Obama Foundation Scholars Program, emphasizing diversity and empowerment. Previously, Jamia held various positions within the National Security Council at the White House and the Executive Office of the President, along with serving as an assistant for U.S. Senator Barack Obama. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in International Relations from Salve Regina University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
