Simon Palmer

Simon Palmer, FCMA CGMA, has extensive work experience in executive leadership roles and finance. Simon currently serves as the Group Chief Executive Officer for Trust Alliance Group since January 2024. Prior to that, they were the Group Managing Director for the same company from April 2018.

Before joining Trust Alliance Group, Palmer worked as the Non-Executive Director and CEO for Yarmouth Stores Limited from January 2017 to April 2019. Simon successfully led a change program and devised a 3-year strategic plan for the company, which included a buy and build strategy.

Palmer also gained experience as a Director for EMERGE360 LIMITED from March 2016 to April 2019. During their tenure, they specialized in providing interim or part-time experts to private family-owned or PE-backed businesses, offering strategic expertise in CEO, CFO, CMO, and CCO roles.

From November 2014 to April 2019, Palmer held the position of CEO and Non-Executive Director at NetXtra, a web agency based in East Anglia. Simon led the business turnaround and successfully sold the company to private equity for a significant multiple on earnings.

In addition to their roles at Trust Alliance Group, Yarmouth Stores Limited, EMERGE360 LIMITED, and NetXtra, Palmer also served as CFO for Ombudsman Services from May 2018 to March 2019, as well as CEO for MCS Wholesale Ltd from November 2008 to December 2014.

Earlier in their career, Palmer held leadership positions at Ensemble Clothing Ltd, Private Equity Owned - Tobar Group Limited, Shoefayre, and Samworth Brothers. Overall, Palmer has a diverse background in executive leadership and finance, with a proven track record of driving growth and success in various industries.

Simon Palmer attended Guthlaxton College from 1984 to 1986. Simon obtained additional certifications including CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant) from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 1999 and FCMA (Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) from the Chartered Institute of Global Management Accountants in 1999.
