James Carlo Villegas has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies.

James Carlo joined TrustArc in 2022 as a Senior Software Engineer - Lead, where they are currently employed.

Before that, they worked at Infor from 2018 to 2022. In their role as a Principal Software Engineer, they were responsible for the security scanning and remediation process for a Supply Chain Management software development team. James Carlo also played a key role in planning and implementing new features and conducting code reviews. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Infor, where they contributed to the maintenance and enhancement of a Supply Chain Management web application and provided technical inputs for feature planning.

Prior to Infor, they were employed at Exist Software Labs, Inc. from 2012 to 2018. As a Technical Lead, they played a pivotal role in developing an internet and mobile retail banking solution for the Philippine Bank of Communications. James Carlo also headed the development of a ride-sharing application and its backend web services. James Carlo began their tenure at Exist Software Labs as a Senior Software Engineer, where they created and maintained features for various web application projects and performed tasks related to migrating applications and developing and tuning search engines.

Before Exist Software Labs, they worked at Sun Life Financial from 2008 to 2012. As an Analyst Programmer, they upgraded components of an internal SMS gateway system and coordinated system outsourcing for an insurance agent E-learning initiative. James Carlo also worked as a Programmer, where they maintained Java and ASP web applications, implemented new features, and improved product quality through automated regression testing.

Prior to Sun Life Financial, they worked as a Researcher at Datacraft Asia in 2006-2007, where they deployed a Windows Server 2003 domain environment and conducted training sessions.

Their work experience began at Smart Communications in 2005, where they worked as a Trainee and designed an Interactive Voice Response System Application using Visual C++ 6.0 for the Customer Care department.

James Carlo Villegas completed their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a specialization in Software Technology at De La Salle University from 2003 to 2006. James Carlo then pursued their Master of Science in Computer Science at the same institution from 2007 to 2008, focusing on computer science, e-learning, neural networks, and genetic algorithms. In addition to their academic achievements, James obtained the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) On Microsoft Windows Server 2003 certification from Microsoft in April 2007. James Carlo also earned a certification in "The Complete Guide to Becoming a Software Architect" from Udemy in September 2022.
