Jana O'Hara, MSN, RN has a diverse work experience in various healthcare settings. Jana started their career at Methodist Healthcare System in 2011 as a Registered Nurse in the Medical/Surgical ICU, where they quickly progressed to the role of charge nurse/team lead. During their time at Methodist Healthcare System, they also served as a Performance Improvement Nurse, responsible for improving compliance with CMS Core Measures and driving clinical outcomes improvement. Jana was cross-trained in various roles, including Quality Coordinator, Sepsis Program Coordinator, Stroke Program Coordinator, and Physician Performance Improvement Manager.

In 2016, Jana transitioned to the role of Registered Nurse IV in the Endoscopy/Procedural unit at Methodist Hospital. Jana provided nursing care to patients undergoing various endoscopic procedures and led a performance improvement project to enhance the process of sending bronchoscopy specimens for analysis. Additionally, they actively participated in the Hospital Nurse Retention Committee, where they mentored new resident nurses and implemented initiatives to increase retention and address turnover.

In 2018, Jana joined University Health as the Director of Patient Safety. In this role, they led and oversaw the system-wide Patient Safety Program, which encompassed an extensive network of healthcare facilities, including inpatient hospitals, ambulatory clinics, urgent care centers, outpatient dialysis centers, and ambulatory surgery centers. Their responsibilities included increasing near miss reporting, conducting comprehensive systematic analysis, root cause analysis, and actions to prevent harm or serious safety events. Jana collaborated with the Risk Management team to evaluate reported events and monitor patient safety trends.

Currently, Jana is part of the team at Trusted Health. Jana has held several roles, including Director of Clinical Operations for Quality Assurance, Director of Clinical Operations for Career Services, and their current position as the Director of Clinical Operations for Onboarding & Compliance. In their capacity, they have provided clinical oversight for investigations of incidents, developed policies and procedures for board of nursing reporting and subpoena response, and developed a team of Clinical Operations Managers to handle incident escalation, discovery, and resolution for client partners. Jana has also been a Clinical Lead for Trusted Marketplace, ensuring the working clinician experience is supported through escalated customer support, retention and rebooking, and clinical incident management.

Jana O'Hara, MSN, RN holds a Master of Science degree in Nursing from The University of Texas at El Paso, with a specialization in Nursing Systems Management and a Graduate Certificate in Nursing Education. Jana also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Nursing Science from Biola University. In addition to their educational background, Jana holds various certifications, including Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) from the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) from IHI, and Registered Nurse (RN) certification from TX BON. Jana is also certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Experienced Provider (ACLS) and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) by the American Heart Association. Jana has further enhanced their expertise with a Patient Safety Certificate from the Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality.
