In this role, they developed a deep learning model using Python and Tensorflow to generate and classify images, videos, and speech. Murchana also implemented multimodal fusion techniques and proposed a measure for improving emotion or action recognition from multimodal time-series data.

During their time at ZF Group from September 2019 to April 2020, Murchana worked as a Co-Op Algorithm Engineering, where they applied machine learning for radar targets classification and conducted statistical analysis of radar data to improve wheel detection in vehicles. Murchana also developed a statistical analysis tool for a driving database.

Murchana has additional experience as a Project Fellow at Gauhati University's Digital Signal Processing Laboratory from August 2016 to December 2016. Murchana also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Gauhati University from August 2014 to July 2015.

Murchana Baruah began their education at St Stephen's High School from 1995 to 2007. Murchana then attended Salt Brook Academy from 2007 to 2009. Murchana went on to complete their Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at Assam Engineering College from 2009 to 2013. Murchana pursued further education and obtained a Master's Degree in Signal Processing and Communication from Gauhati University from 2013 to 2015. In 2016, Murchana enrolled at The University of Memphis where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering, completing their studies in 2022.
