Sam Fitzgerald

Sam Fitzgerald is the Vice President of Technology at TruVista Communications, Inc. Sam has over fifteen years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with a focus on network architecture and optimization.

Fitzgerald began their career in January 2005 as a Senior Network Architect for Time Warner Cable. Sam was responsible for leading the router refresh team, which replaced existing Cisco 7600 routers with Cisco ASR routers. Sam also led the company's initiative to deploy IPv6 throughout the enterprise network.

In addition to their work with Cisco and IPv6, Fitzgerald also led a team of architects and operations personnel in a self-started project to reduce re-convergence times within the network. This involved allowing all traffic throughout the network to take the lowest latency path between any two locations, adding redundancy for traffic destined to the Internet, and simplifying and optimizing the end-to-end architecture. The project was successful in reducing troubleshooting times and decreasing mean time to repair.

Most recently, Fitzgerald has been leading the technology initiative for a converged network at TruVista Communications. The converged network is designed to offer transport of commercial customer traffic, voice, video, and data over a common IP infrastructure. This includes offering Layer 2 or Layer 3 MPLS VPN services and internet access, as well as any services offered by TWC. The project has been successful in delivering real
