Akshit Khurana

Akshit Khurana has had a diverse range of work experiences. Most recently, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at Narrative (YC W23) starting in January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Facebook as a Software Engineer from September 2020 to January 2023. Before joining Facebook, Akshit worked at Ambient.ai as a Staff Software Engineer and Platform Lead from June 2019 to September 2020.

In 2016, Akshit joined HouseCanary as a Senior Software Engineer on the research team. In this role, they played a significant role in hiring engineers and leading text extraction projects. Akshit also utilized deep learning models for object detection in real estate images and worked on building pipelines for image classification. Akshit also contributed to data ingestion and transformation projects at HouseCanary.

Prior to HouseCanary, Akshit was a Software Engineer at Ginger from May 2014 to November 2016. During their time at Ginger, they were responsible for hiring interns and full-time candidates, mentoring interns, and building prediction services using machine learning models. Akshit also worked on improving data quality and implemented server creation and management systems.

Before Ginger, Akshit worked at LinkedIn on the SlideShare team as a Software Engineer from July 2013 to April 2014. Akshit also gained experience as a Student Developer at Google Summer of Code in 2013 and 2012, where they worked on projects involving social sharing components and package tracking.

Akshit also had an internship at NetApp in 2012, where they developed a file system crawler and implemented a TCP server in C++.

Akshit Khurana holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Apart from their formal education, Khurana has obtained several certifications in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence. Akshit completed the courses "Sequence Models", "Convolutional Neural Networks", "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization", "Structuring Machine Learning Projects", "Neural Networks and Deep Learning by deeplearning.ai", and "Machine Learning by Stanford University" through Coursera. These certifications were obtained between the years 2017 and 2018.
