Dean Aguiar has a wealth of experience in the biomedical industry. Dean began their career in 1996 as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Minnesota. In 2001, they joined Pfizer as a Project Leader and Senior Principal Scientist, where they developed and managed pre-clinical activities for multiple projects. In 2009, they became Director of Product Development at Biomimetic Therapeutics, where they successfully led R&D activities and prepared non-clinical and clinical sections for regulatory filings. In 2011, they joined The Hartwell Foundation as Program Director, where they were responsible for the tactical management of scientific operations that supported the funding process for biomedical research. In 2012, they co-founded Pendant Biosciences and served as the company's Vice President of Translational Research and Director of Preclinical Research. In 2018, they joined TSC Alliance as Vice President of Translational Research and Director of Preclinical Research.
Dean Aguiar obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biochemistry from Beloit College between 1986 and 1990. Dean then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry at Rush University, which they completed between 1990 and 1996.
