Gareth Owen

Gareth Owen has extensive work experience in the banking industry. Gareth started their career as an Analyst Programmer at LTSB Group IT, where they gained experience with technologies such as DB2, COBOL, and Business Objects. Gareth then worked as a Business Intelligence Developer, building a new lending database using UNIX, Oracle, PL/SQL, and Business Objects.

Owen later became a Business Intelligence Manager, leading a team of BI developers and contractors. During this time, they extended the New Lending Database to include insurance cross sales. Gareth followed a Dimensional Modeling approach and focused on building new fact tables and specific dimensions for the various insurances.

In 2009, Owen joined Lloyds Banking Group and served as a Mortgage BI Technical Design & Build Lead. Gareth worked on a Integration Programme and developed a new mortgage data warehouse to support the LBG Group. Gareth also served as a Senior Manager Verde Business Intelligence, where they built the Asset Selection process for mortgage accounts and led the transformation of a MI-focused team into a technical BI delivery-focused team.

In 2013, Owen joined TSB Bank as a Senior Development Manager - Business Intelligence, where they ensured the upskilling of the Mortgage BI team and supported regulatory requirements. Gareth later held roles such as Senior Manager - Digital Data & Insight and Senior Manager - BI Data Warehouse Architecture - Migration, where they led initiatives to improve data quality and support digital and migration projects. Currently, Gareth Owen is the Head of Data Platforms at TSB Bank.

Gareth Owen attended Aston University from 1997 to 2001, where they pursued a degree in Computing Science. Gareth successfully completed their studies and received a II:1 degree classification.
