T&T Construction is hiring a Full Time Concrete Finishers to help oversee multi-location job sites including equipment, labor, and materials for our commercial concrete division in the Mideast Area. 

Reports to: Concrete Finishing Superintendent, or Project Superintendent

Purpose of the position: Supports the place and finish of concrete pours to ensure that Safety, Quality and Procedures are kept in accordance with ACI and company policy and standards. Complete every concrete pour ensuring that the total satisfaction of our customers and the goals of the company are achieved.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Considerable experience is required with no less than 3 years’ experience as a Concrete Finisher. A self-motivated individual that is detail oriented with the ability to complete multiple tasks with consistency and accuracy. Exceptional follow-up skills are required, and the candidate should possess the ability to adapt to change or any weather changes. The capabilities to think ahead, identify and resolve potential problems. Must provide or be able to obtain ACI Finisher technician, OSHA 30 hour and CPR/First Aid certifications. Must have personal transportation and a willingness to travel.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Safety
    1. Assist Project Superintendents and Concrete Finishing Superintendents in the investigation of incidents (vehicle accidents, personal injury, and general liabilities).
    2. Ensure that proper safety equipment (PPE) is used for themselves and others in the finishing crew.
  2. Quality
    1. Ensure consistent and superior workmanship that meets or exceeds customer expectations, finished correctly the first time.
    2. Spot-check elevations and depth during concrete placements, which can significantly affect slab tolerances and added cost to the project.
    3. Communicate with the Screed Operator to determine type of placement/finish, as required by the specifications of the project. (FF/FL)
    4. Continually be aware of weather conditions, timing of loads to prevent problems, and assure the specified concrete finish.
    5. Continually verify placed concrete for consistent slump, workability, and finish.

  4. Equipment – Properly trained to operate, clean and maintain, ALL finishing equipment.
  5. Manage through leadership and effective communication.
  6. Motivate and inspire employees through positive reinforcement and prompt feedback on expected safety, quality, and productivity related goals.

Performance Evaluations are conducted after the first 90 days and annually thereafter or as deemed necessary by the Supervisor.
