Michael Ong

Michael Ong (PMP) has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. Michael is currently the Head of Sales Tender & Marketing (Global) at MacGregor since September 2022. Before that, they worked at General Electric (FieldCore) as the APAC Commercial Leader from January 2017 to September 2022, where they played a key role in developing the Renewable Blue Print and expanding the Renewable footprint in Japan, Korea, and Vietnam.

Prior to their role at General Electric, Michael worked at TechnipFMC as a Project Manager from October 2014 to November 2015. Here, they were responsible for developing bidding and contract strategies and assisting in market analysis to develop business strategy plans.

Michael also had significant experience at Subsea 7, where they served as a Tender Manager from August 2011 to September 2014. In this role, they developed bidding and contract strategies, gathered market intelligence, and managed the development, preparation, and submission of winning tenders to customers.

Michael's earlier experience includes work at DeepOcean as a Lead Tender & Project Engineer from May 2007 to July 2011. Here, they were responsible for the technical and commercial aspects of tender development, submission, and contract negotiation.

Finally, Michael started their career as a Process Engineer at Hoya Magnetics Singapore Pte Ltd from May 2005 to May 2007.

Throughout their career, Michael has showcased strong skills in project management, risk management, commercial management, and contract management. Michael has also demonstrated their ability to develop business strategies, lead sales and marketing initiatives, and deliver successful tender submissions.

Michael Ong (PMP) earned a Bachelors (Hons) degree in Mechanical & Manufacturing System Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University in 2001.
