Dr. Timo Böttcher

Dr. Timo Böttcher is a Senior Researcher and Industry-University-Collaboration Manager at SAP since June 2025 and a Guest Researcher at Technische Universität München since December 2018, where Dr. Böttcher also leads the Research Group on "Digital Business Models & Sustainability." This group focuses on the intersection of AI, digital technologies, and sustainable value creation, particularly regarding the circular economy. Dr. Böttcher manages multiple research projects with an €840K budget and a team of six PhD researchers. Previously, Dr. Böttcher was involved in multiple roles, including research associate and PhD student, where Dr. Böttcher completed a dissertation on digital business model innovation. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Science in Management Information Systems from the Technical University of Munich and various degrees in Business Information Systems from institutions including USC Marshall School of Business and Swinburne University of Technology.
