Protzer Ulrike

Protzer Ulrike is an accomplished virologist and director with extensive experience in academia and research. Currently serving as the Director of the Institute of Virology at the Technical University of Munich and Helmholtz Munich since January 2008, Protzer also holds the position of Institute Director at TU München and HelmholtzZentrum München since November 2007. Prior experience includes serving as Junior Group Leader at the University of Cologne from November 2002 to October 2007 and as a Scientist at the University of Heidelberg from 1996 to 2002. Protzer's career began as a Trainee in Medicine specializing in Hepatology at the University Hospital Mainz from 1992 to 1996. Protzer earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Erlangen between 1982 and 1988, following completion of the Abitur at Melanchthon Gymnasium Nürnberg.
