Veteran attorney who is a strong advocate for his clients especially the elderly and those with mental health issues.
Gary’s practice is focused in the estates and trusts field, frequently establishing guardianships for his clients; as well as municipal law and litigation.
His practice involves legal issues relating to geriatrics and mental health. Gary receives referrals from social workers at numerous hospitals and nursing care facilities relating to guardianships, powers of attorney, estate planning, and medical assistance (Medicaid) qualification. He is a frequent speaker at seminars for patients’ families sponsored by health care facilities and is a past President of the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
As solicitor for the Township of Pine, a rapidly developing community north of Pittsburgh, much of Gary’s municipal practice involves land-use and zoning law issues. He is also solicitor for the Armstrong-Indiana Intermediate Unit 28, the provider of special education services to students in 11 school districts, and for the Zoning Hearing Board of the Borough of Franklin Park.
Gary’s litigation practice has encompassed both plaintiff and defense work and has included major toxic tort litigation, including asbestos and formaldehyde cases.
