Curtis Akey

Curtis Akey serves as the Director of Baseball Operations at Tulane University since July 2018, following a role as Communications Manager for the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Akey has extensive experience in athletic communications, having served as the Associate Director for Athletic Communications at Tulane University from 2012 to 2016, where significant improvements were made to the public profile of various sports programs through social media and press releases. Earlier roles include Marketing Director at ITC.4, National Program Coordinator for Caps for Kids, and Outreach Coordinator at the Audubon Nature Institute. Akey began a career in sports information as a Student Intern at Louisiana State University, where impactful contributions were made to the Women’s Gymnastics program. Akey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication and Media Studies from Louisiana State University.
