Matthew Dalva is a distinguished academic in the field of neuroscience, currently serving as a Professor of Cell and Molecular Biology, Presidential Chair, and Director of the Tulane Brain Institute at Tulane University since July 2023. Prior to this role, Matthew held various positions at Thomas Jefferson University, including Professor of Neuroscience and Vice Chair, and Associate Professor of Neuroscience from July 2011 to July 2023. Matthew's career also includes significant roles at the University of Pennsylvania as an Assistant Professor of Neuroscience, and as a Lecturer at MBL. Additionally, Matthew completed postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard University and Boston Children's Hospital, and earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Neurobiology from Duke University, where Matthew was also a graduate student. Matthew holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Philosophy from Stanford University.
