Markus Waechter

Markus Waechter is an experienced leader in education and research, currently serving as Corporate Director at TUMCREATE since November 2022, and has held the position of Managing Director at Technische Universität München Asia since April 2005. Waechter also contributed as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Nanyang Technological University from March 2009 to March 2012, focusing on the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering as an Adjunct Assistant Professor. Previously, Waechter was CEO & Corporate Director at TUM CREATE from July 2010 to September 2011, and worked as a Research Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at the National University of Singapore from January 2004 to January 2005. Waechter’s early career included a role as a Research Assistant at Technische Universität München between February 1998 and December 2003. Academically, Waechter holds a Dr.-Ing. in Aerospace Engineering and a Master of Science in Mathematics from the Technical University of Munich, along with A-levels from Gymnasium Erding.
