Tami Hill-Washington

Chief Equity & Inclusion Officer at Turnaround for Children

Tami Hill-Washington began their work experience in 2006 as a High School Social Studies Teacher for District Secondary Education. Tami then moved on to Success Academy Charter Schools in 2012, where they worked as an Assistant Principal until 2014. During this time, they also served as an Adjunct Professor at Touro College from 2013 to 2014. Since 2014, Tami has been working as the Chief Equity & Inclusion Officer for Turnaround for Children.

Tami Hill-Washington has an extensive education history. Tami obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from St. Cloud State University, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. After completing their undergraduate studies, Tami pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Teachers College, Columbia University. This degree was earned between 2015 and 2016.

Prior to their studies at Columbia University, Tami earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Education from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. Tami attended this institution from 2007 to 2009.

In addition to their formal degrees, Tami has acquired a variety of certifications that have furthered their education and professional development. Tami obtained a Teaching License, Various Types from the Minnesota Department of Education in 2009. Tami also holds a School Building Leader Initial Certificate from the New York State Education Department, obtained in 2017. Tami'smost recent certification is in Diversity & Inclusion, which they obtained from Cornell University in 2020.
