Matt Owens

Matt Owens has a comprehensive work experience in the field of Human Resources. Matt began their career at San Francisco Marriott Union Square in 2007 as the Director of Human Resources. Matt then moved on to The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City in 2009, where they continued to serve as the Director of Human Resources. In 2011, Matt joined Marriott International and worked in the Human Resources department of Global Operations Services & Global Lodging Services HR Process Team. In 2012, they became the Director of Human Resources at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company LLC, a position they held until 2018. In 2018, Matt joined JW Marriott Nashville as the Director of People + Culture, a role they carried out until 2022. During their time at JW Marriott Nashville, they also served as the Co-Chair of the Greater Nashville Marriott Business Council from 2019 to 2022. Matt's most recent position is as the Vice President of Human Resources at Turnberry since March 2022. As of June 2023, they have been promoted to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Turnberry.

Matt Owens obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Human Resources Management from James Madison University, where they studied from 1995 to 2000. Matt then pursued an MBA in HR Management and Organizational Science from The George Washington University School of Business, graduating from 2002 to 2005. In December 2015, Owens obtained the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM.
