Eric Wang

Eric Wang has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Eric is currently working as the Vice President of Artificial Intelligence at Turnitin, leading a global team that builds AI-powered teaching and learning experiences. Previously, they served as the Senior Director of Turnitin AI and the Director of Machine Intelligence.

Prior to their role at Turnitin, Eric worked at Chegg Inc. as the Principal Data Scientist and the Staff Data Scientist specializing in natural language processing (NLP). Eric played a crucial role in developing Chegg's modular machine learning ecosystem and deploying large-scale NLP AI systems.

Before joining Chegg, Eric worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as the Principal Investigator and Team Lead in the field of robust analysis via semantic spaces. Eric led a team in developing innovative techniques for natural language processing and contributed to LLNL's core NLP and data science capabilities.

Eric also has experience in academia, having served as a Visiting Research Professor at the United States Naval Academy, where they conducted research in applied machine learning and taught undergraduate Calculus-II. Eric started their career as a Research Assistant at Duke University, focusing on machine learning and Bayesian Nonparametrics.

Throughout their career, Eric Wang has demonstrated strong technical skills, leadership, and a passion for advancing AI and machine learning technologies.

Eric Wang attended The Ohio State University from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). Eric then pursued further education at Duke University from 2006 to 2012, receiving a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in ECE.
