Umair Afzal has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Umair started their career as an Intern at Pakistan Television Corporation Limited in 2014, where they received training in central room equipment installation and control room installation. Umair then worked as a Trainee Electrical Engineer at PTCL in 2014-2015, gaining hands-on experience in electrical engineering. In 2015-2016, Umair served as an Engineering Trainee at Islamabad Electric Supply Company, where they managed grid stations, conducted troubleshooting and maintenance activities, and performed power transformer testing.
In 2017-2018, Umair worked as a Drive Test Engineer at NETKOM, where they collaborated with Huawei Technologies on RF Optimization projects. Umair analyzed interference, call drops, handover failures, and other performance metrics in 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. Additionally, they completed annual coverage and performance drive test analysis and provided troubleshooting and field support.
Most recently, Umair served as an RF Coordinator & Post Processor Engineer at Turnotech Inc. starting in 2018.
Umair Afzal obtained their Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Electronics and Telecommunication from Hamdard University, which they attended from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2010, they completed their Intermediate level education in the Faculty of Science at BISE Multan. Before that, from 2006 to 2008, they completed their Matriculation in Science at BISE Multan.
In addition to their formal education, Umair Afzal also obtained a certification in Engine Control & Management Systems from NTC Islamabad in May 2017.
