James Rhodes has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and technology leadership. James is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Turntable.fm since August 2021. Prior to this, they were the Co-Founder and CEO of HelixAI, a startup that participated in the Alexa Accelerator powered by Techstars in 2017.

James has also worked as a Freelance Mobile Developer, providing consulting and development services for several startups and early-stage companies from September 2016 to August 2021. Before that, James was a Senior iOS Engineer at WeddingWire from December 2013 to September 2016. James played a key role in building popular consumer-facing mobile applications for wedding planning, utilizing Swift 3.0 and the latest Apple frameworks. James'sfocus was on maintaining fast release cycles, excellent development practices, and clean architectures through automated testing.

Prior to WeddingWire, James worked as an iOS Engineer at Treater from April 2012 to December 2013. In this role, they led the development and growth of Treater's mobile applications for both iOS and Android. James collaborated with product leads, designers, and company management to define technical strategies, go-to-market strategies, and product features.

James was also a Co-founder, CTO, and Lead Developer at PaidThx from January 2012 to January 2013. James co-founded the company and played a crucial role in its development as a lead developer.

Additionally, James has held positions such as Agile Team Lead at GE Healthcare from January 2011 to May 2012, where they led a team of developers, designers, and QA engineers in an agile scrum environment. James also served as a Software Development Manager at Transactis from September 2008 to January 2011, managing all aspects of product development for an electronic payment and presentment startup.

Earlier in their career, James worked as a Web Developer at Ironworks Consulting in 2008 and as the Vice President of Technology at Richmond.com from January 2006 to January 2007.

James Rhodes attended Virginia Tech from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Engineering.
