Turntide’s Transport group is based in the North East of England and is focused on delivering electrification systems – energy storage, power electronics and advanced electric motors – to deliver emissions-free mobility and industrial machines across global markets.

There is a massive change happening across industrial Transportation.  Globally there is a rapid shift to new electrified platforms to meet the demands of their end users looking to reduce carbon emissions and create entirely new product types.  Our Turntide for Electrification solutions help ease the customer journey and accelerate their transition.   

An Accounting Assistant’s primary responsibility will be to manage the accounts receivable and banking functions. The role is based at our site in Gateshead and reports into the Finance Director.

Job Role

In this role the Accounting Assistant will be responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for raising customer invoices  
  • End to end management of Accounts Receivable Ledger including monthly reviews and balance sheet reconciliation  
  • Update of cashflow actuals & forecast on a weekly basis 
  • Credit Control for Sales Ledger  
  • Credit checks for new customers 
  • Sending statements to customers 
  • Regular updates of customer via credit safe 
  • Continuous management of customer credit limits 
  • Host weekly debtor calls 
  • Allocate receipts to invoices on a timely basis 
  • Issue Customer statements/reminders 
  • Maintain the Accounts Receivable inbox daily, making sure all queries are monitored 
  • Daily reporting of cash balances to the Finance Lead
  • Process bank statements
  • Bank reconciliation for all Turntide Transport accounts
  • Posting all cash payments and receipts to Business System; ensuring all transactions are posted on a timely basis
  • Support project work including cost reduction initiatives
  • Uploading BACS to bank system
  • Processing adhoc bank payments to suppliers and expense payments to staff
  • Reconciliation of revenue recognition in Business System 
  • Provide support for Internal Audit/External Audit  
  • Provide support to wider business for Process improvements
  • Other ad hoc tasks within the Finance Department

Experience and Skills

We’re looking for candidates with the following experience and skills:

  • Previous experience of working in an accounting function
  • Strong knowledge in MS Office, especially Excel

It would also be great (but not essential) if in addition to the above you also had:

  • Experience working with NetSuite

Qualifications

A recognised qualification is required to demonstrate proficiency in key skills: English Literature, English Language, Maths and ICT.

Relevant experience could also be considered.
