AV System Engineering Staff Engineer TLM at TuSimple

Qiaotian LI, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of autonomous vehicles and computer vision.

Currently, Qiaotian is working as an AV System Engineering Staff Engineer/TLM at TuSimple, starting in October 2022. Prior to this, Qiaotian worked at Argo AI as a Robotaxi AV System Engineering from January 2021 to October 2022.

Before moving into the autonomous vehicle industry, Qiaotian worked at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as an AV Algorithm Development engineer from May 2019 to January 2021. In this role, Qiaotian worked on the development of FCA's autonomous driving system in collaboration with BMW and various internal and external stakeholders.

From 2018 to 2019, Qiaotian worked as a Sr. Autonomous Driving Engineering Lead at Ushr, Inc., where they were involved in the development of autonomous driving technology.

Prior to entering the automotive industry, Qiaotian gained experience in computer vision and imaging. They worked as a Sr. Imaging Scientist at Motorola Mobility from July 2014 to May 2018. In this role, Qiaotian developed smart camera features and implemented new features for commercial products.

Qiaotian also served as a Reviewer of Top Journals in Computer Vision and Image Processing for IEEE from 2014 to 2018.

Before working in industry, Qiaotian gained research experience as a Research Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from September 2009 to May 2014. Their research focused on computer vision, image metrology, and spatial sensing. Additionally, Qiaotian worked as a Teaching Assistant at the university, instructing electrical engineering courses and leading students from various engineering disciplines.

Qiaotian also had an internship at The MathWorks as a MATLAB Graphics Engineering Intern in 2013, where they worked on product management projects and automated testing.

Qiaotian Li, PhD completed their education from 2008 to 2014 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Qiaotian earned their PhD in the field of Image Metrolegy, specializing in Camera Calibration, Computer Vision, Data Analysis, and Optimization.
