Yuanqin Lu

Yuanqin Lu has significant work experience in the field of self-driving technology. They are currently working as a Technical Director at TuSimple, starting in May 2021. Prior to that, they had served as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Mercari, Inc. from March 2019 to May 2021. They previously worked at TuSimple as a Perception Algorithm Engineer from September 2016 to February 2019, where their role involved research and development of perception algorithms for self-driving, including tasks such as vision pixel-wise segmentation, 2D detection, optical flow estimation, stereo images disparity estimation, basic image processing, and LiDAR 3D detection. They are proficient in Python and C++ and have experience working with the MXNet framework. Before their roles at TuSimple, they worked as a part-time developer at popIn Inc. from June 2015 to July 2016 and at Metadata Incorporated from March 2015 to May 2015, where their responsibilities included video analysis and social media data mining.

Yuanqin Lu has a strong educational background in the field of computer science and technology. They completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Computer Software at Tsinghua University from 2009 to 2013. Following this, they pursued their Master of Information Science and Technology at The University of Tokyo from 2014 to 2016, specializing in Creative Informatics. Prior to their Master's degree, Yuanqin Lu was a Research Student at The University of Tokyo in the field of Computer Science in 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Yuanqin Lu obtained certification in the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test N1 in July 2017, which demonstrates their proficiency in the Japanese language. The certification was obtained from The Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services.
