Tameka Harper

Dean of Students at Tuskegee University

Tameka Harper is the current Dean of Students at Tuskegee University. Tameka previously served as the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at Arkansas Baptist College from September 2016 to January 2018. In this role, they provided strategic vision, leadership, organization and supervision for the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, which included Residential Life; Disability Services; Career Services; Campus Life; Office of Admissions; Office of the Registrar; Judicial Affairs and New Student Orientation Programs. Harper also served as Co-Chair of the Assessment efforts for the institution’s HLC reaccreditation site visit; provided leadership in establishing and realizing the University’s enrollment goals through data analysis and campus wide recruitment and retention efforts; collected and evaluated admissions statistics to monitor and inform the administration, faculty, staff and Board when appropriate; worked collaboratively with all constituencies of the college to establish meaningful relationships which foster student success and achievement; developed opportunities for active student engagement throughout the college and community; worked collaboratively with the Office of Development to create and promote the institution’s brand thereby augmenting the college’s marketing portfolio. Additionally, Harper served as a member of the Faculty for Political Science.

Tameka Harper has a Master of Public Administration from the University of the District of Columbia, a BA in Speech Communications from Georgia State University, and a PhD in Political Science from Clark Atlanta University.
