Nick Ollington has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. Nick has held various roles in different companies.

Nick started their career at the Accident Compensation Corporation as an HR Advisor in 1995. From there, they moved on to work at Barclays Bank as a Personnel Analyst and later as an HR Project Manager from 1997 to 1999.

In 2000, Nick joined Guardian Newspapers Ltd as part of their Human Resources team before transitioning to Barclays Bank once again, this time as an HR Manager. Nick remained in this role until May 2000.

In 2003, they joined Telecom New Zealand as an HR Consultant for a few months before transitioning to AgResearch Ltd as an HR Manager. Nick held this position until December 2010 and also served as the Acting General Manager of Human Resources during that time.

From 2011 to 2015, Nick worked at Fonterra, taking on several roles including Central North Island Regional HR Manager, Senior HR Business Partner, Acting GM HR NZ Operations, and finally GM HR oCEO/PCS.

In 2015, they joined the Waikato Regional Council as a Human Resources Manager and was later promoted to the role of People and Capability Manager, which they held until August 2022.

Most recently, Nick Ollington has taken up the position of Chief People and Sustainability Officer at Tuatahi First Fibre, starting in August 2022.

Nick Ollington obtained a Bachelor of Social Science with first-class honors in Labour Studies & Politics from The University of Waikato between 1991 and 1995. Nick then pursued a Master's degree in Management, with a focus on Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General, from the same university from 2006 to 2008.

In terms of additional certifications, Nick Ollington obtained the "Certified Facilitator: ExperienceChange™" certification from ExperiencePoint in July 2022. Nick also holds the title of Chartered Member Human Resources Institute NZ, which they obtained from HRNZ in August 2020. Additionally, they have obtained several accreditations in LSO/GSI, OCI/PEI, and APOP from Human Synergistics, although the specific date of obtaining these certifications is not provided.
