Helene V Gagnon

Helene V Gagnon has a diverse and extensive work experience. Helene V is currently the Chief Sustainability Officer and Senior Vice President of Stakeholder Engagement at CAE, a technology company that provides simulation training and critical operations support solutions. In their previous role at CAE, they served as the Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Global Communications.

Helene V has also held positions in other prominent organizations. Helene was a Member of the Board of Directors at Hydro-Québec, a world leader in hydroelectricity. Helene V served as a Member of the Board of Directors and Vice Chair at Aéroports de Montréal. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Consultant at Ciment McInnis, supporting the construction and start-up of a cement plant.

Earlier in their career, Helene held senior roles at Bombardier Aerospace, including Vice President of Public Affairs, Communications, CSR, and Achieving Excellence System. Helene V also worked as a Director of Public Affairs at Noranda/Falconbridge. Prior to that, they specialized in environmental law as a Lawyer at Fasken Martineau.

Helene's professional journey began with a summer internship at the United Nations, where they worked in the Office of Legal Affairs.

Helene V Gagnon, APR, FCPRS pursued their education in a structured and progressive manner. Helene V first attended Brebeuf College from 1987 to 1989, earning their DEC in Social Science. Afterwards, they enrolled at McGill University from 1989 to 1993 and obtained their LL.B./BCL in Common Law and Civil Law. Continuing their academic journey, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 1994 to 1995 and attained an M.Sc. in Public Administration and Public Policy. In addition to their education, Helene V Gagnon, APR, FCPRS has also obtained various certifications such as the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) from the Canadian Public Relations Society, Inc. in 2003, and the Fellow (FCPRS) designation from the Canadian Public Relations Society in 2020. Furthermore, in 2021, they achieved the Global Competent Boards Designation (ESG Competent Boards) from Competent Boards. Helene V Gagnon, APR, FCPRS also holds the title of Member of the Bar from the Barreau du Québec, earned in 1995.
