Barb Laidlaw has over 30 years of work experience in various roles. Barb started their career as a Corporate Trainer at Bell Atlantic, where they taught academics to displaced AT&T employees. Barb then worked as a Training Manager at ExecuTrain, teaching over 30 different computer software courses. After that, they joined Dart Container as a Software Support Specialist/Trainer/Developer, where they developed and conducted training courses in Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes. Barb also worked at SEM Communication as a Call Center Manager/Teacher, where they hired, trained, and evaluated teachers to speak to Koreans and taught their own list of students. At Capitol Bancorp, they served as an HR Generalist, providing HR support to small banks. Barb was responsible for recruitment, background checks, hiring, terminating, and counseling. Barb also worked as a Help Desk Analyst, supporting end users with banking software programs. Most recently, Barb has been a Customer Service Manager at LorAnn Oils. Additionally, they have experience as a tutor, both at Tutor.com and SEM Communication, assisting students in English grammar and sentence structure.
Barb Laidlaw attended Michigan State University from 1974 to 1979, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree (BA) in English Education.
