Gonzalo de Castro

Gonzalo de Castro has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and industries. Gonzalo started their career as an Ingeniero Instalaciones at Consultores, Obras y Proyectos de Arquitectura, S.L. in 1994 and worked there until 1995. Gonzalo then moved on to Aplicaciones, Proyectos, Estudios de Ingeniería, S.L. where they held the position of Gerente from 1995 to 2000.

In 2000, Gonzalo joined Bureau Veritas as an Auditor jefe ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001. Gonzalo held this position until 2004 when they became the Director de Seguridad y Salud Laboral at the same company. Gonzalo remained in this role until 2008.

In 2008, Gonzalo joined TÜV Rheinland Europe where they took on various roles. Gonzalo started as the Director Comercial y Marketing and held this position until 2011 when they became the Subdirector General. In 2013, they were promoted to the role of Director General / Managing Director and held this position until 2019. During their time at TÜV Rheinland Europe, they also served as the Regional Stream Manager Western Europe from 2016 to 2018.

Most recently, Gonzalo de Castro joined TÜV Rheinland Group in 2018 as the Senior Vice President | Global Business Field Manager. Gonzalo currently holds this position.

Gonzalo de Castro has a Master's degree in Prevention of Occupational Hazards from the University of Oviedo, specializing in safety at work, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and applied psychosociology. Gonzalo also holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Zaragoza. In addition, they completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at IESE Business School in 2016-2017 and the Programa de Desarrollo Directivo (PDD) at the same institution in 2005.
