Christian's career started at X, the moonshot factory (formerly Google[X]) in 2014, where they worked on healthcare moonshot research and development projects until 2021.
In addition to their work at established companies, Christian has experience as the Co-Founder of Fluid Synchrony LLC, a start-up focused on developing implantable micropump technology with multiple drug delivery applications. As the Founding CTO, they successfully led the research and development of the technology from bench-top to commercial prototype. Christian also provided technical leadership for product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance processes.

Christian Gutierrez has a strong educational background in the field of engineering and business. Christian completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Economics, and Management at Caltech from 2001 to 2005. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Caltech from 2005 to 2006. Lastly, they obtained their PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California, studying from 2006 to 2011.
