Vanessa Carlson Burnaby

Vanessa Carlson Burnaby serves as the VP of Global Talent Acquisition at Twilio since September 2024, while also being the owner of Outlander Brewery & Pub since February 2024. Previously, Vanessa held multiple leadership roles at Avalara from May 2021 to September 2024, concentrating on talent acquisition, diversity, equity, and inclusion. At Workday, Vanessa was Vice President of Talent Acquisition for Global Product and Technology from July 2017 to May 2021, where responsibilities included building a team and executing talent strategies. Vanessa also contributed to Accolade, Inc. as Director of Global Talent Acquisition and Sr. Director of Talent Acquisition between July 2016 and June 2017, focusing on team development amidst organizational changes. Vanessa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UCLA, earned between January 1995 and January 1999.
