Product Manager - Payments API Lead at Tyl by NatWest

Usman Ali has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Usman is currently working as a Core Acquiring Product Manager at Tyl by NatWest since February 2022. Previously, they served as the Head of Product at Flynotes from February 2021 to January 2022.

Before that, Usman worked at essensys as a Senior Product Owner and Team Lead from March 2019 to January 2021. In this role, they led the product team, hired new members, and played a vital role in developing a new API first platform. Usman also worked closely with key customers and the C-level, providing support and aiding the C-level.

Prior to essensys, Usman joined the startup company as a Senior Product Owner and formed the product team from scratch. Usman implemented agile processes across the business and was responsible for owning the 'Operate' product. Usman also provided support, training, and mentorship to the product team for all products. Usman embraced the challenge of learning a new industry, managed the development roadmap, commercial pricing, and enterprise-level customers.

In 2016, Usman worked at Worldpay as a Product Owner and Business Analyst. Usman owned and delivered several projects within Worldpay's alternative payments platform, updating API connections and integrating new alternate payment methods.

Before that, they worked at Sovereign Housing Association from July 2014 to September 2015 as a Software Development Engineer, IT Finance, and IT Technical Support. Usman gained experience in agile methodologies and served as a scrum master. Usman collaborated with clients to define requirements and showcased the final product in demo sessions.

Usman also worked as an IT Assistant at Oxbridge Medica in 2012. Usman handled customer liaison, database management, and marketing responsibilities.

Overall, Usman Ali has a strong background in product management, team leadership, agile methodologies, and customer engagement across different industries.

Usman Ali attended Altrincham Grammar School for Boys from 2005 to 2011, where they completed their high school education. Usman then went on to enroll at the University of Reading, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from 2012 to 2016.
