Larry Newsome

Larry Newsome is a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in various legal roles. Currently serving as Associate General Counsel at UMWA Health and Retirement Funds since February 1991, Newsome manages the Delinquency Section, focusing on the collection of employer contributions from collective bargaining agreements. Previous experience includes serving as a Legal Member on the Board of Appeals and Review for the District of Columbia, working as a Trial Attorney for the U.S. Department of Labor, and holding the position of Staff Attorney at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Newsome began legal career as a Law Clerk to Judge William S. Thompson at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Educated at Howard University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree and holding a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Howard University, Newsome brings a strong academic foundation to a diverse legal background.
