Mike Sweeney

VP, Enterprise Infrastructure and Security at U.S. Cellular

As vice president of enterprise infrastructure and security, Mike is responsible for implementing and maintaining critical infrastructure and operational discipline to ensure the highest core system availability and protection of company and customer data. His teams provide cybersecurity services across the organization, along with infrastructure services for core back office systems and digital workplace services for company care centers, retail stores, business offices, and engineering teams.

Mike joined U.S. Cellular in 2012 and most recently served as senior director of I.S. infrastructure and cybersecurity. In that role he was responsible for ensuring the availability and functionality of critical I.S. platforms, while also keeping company and customer information secure and protected from cyber-attacks. He previously held positions in distributed infrastructure and infrastructure delivery.

Prior to joining U.S. Cellular, Mike held various leadership positions in IT operations, software development and delivery and call center operations. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Roosevelt University in Chicago and a master's degree in telecommunications from DePaul University in Chicago.
