Nevada Basdeo

Nevada Basdeo has a strong background in data analysis and data science. They started their career as a Math & Science Tutor at Georgia State University Perimeter College in 2012. From 2013 to 2018, they worked as a Data Analyst and Mathematics Supervisor at Georgia State University. In 2018, Nevada moved on to become a Data Scientist at the U.S. Department of Commerce until 2020. Currently, they are working at the U.S. Census Bureau, where they have held multiple roles including Data Scientist, President of the U.S. Census Bureau's Python User Group, and Program Director of Data Digitalization since 2020.

Nevada Basdeo completed a Master of Science (MS) in Statistics from The University of Georgia in the years 2013-2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology & Chemistry from Barry University in the years 2006-2008. Their education history also includes an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Engineering from Gainesville State College, which was completed in the years 2001-2004. In addition to their formal education, Nevada Basdeo has obtained several certifications in various subjects, including functional programming with Python, applied machine learning, Python data analysis, artificial intelligence, and data science foundations. They have also completed training in Python and SAS macro language.
